The Alice Milliat Association was created in 2014 and was the brainchild of many public personalities including our President Ms. Christine Kelly. In 2009, she is appointed to the CSA. Concerned by the lack of women’s sport exposure in the media, Christine Kelly decided to launch in 2013 the first international women’s sport day in the media: the 24 hours of women’s sport. Our association’s goal is the development of women’s sport and its mediatisation. Rewarded by the Erasmus+ Sport program, we will organize the first European Women & Sports Day which will take place on May 7th, 2016. For this, we drive a consortium of 4 other European associations: ISCA Denmark, UISP Italia, NISB Netherlands and the Foundation of the Sporting Club de Portugal. The European Women & Sports Day was originally planned as a festive day where women could discuss, share and gather many people around the same cause and concerns. November 2015 has changed the plan. French authorities have decided to extend the emergency state, which complicates and makes it even impossible to organize new public events. Our Association will create a European connected women’s race via the AliceMilliatChallenge social network, which will be available in 5 languages (Fr, En, Ger, It, Port). Therefore, each woman who wants to run on the 7th of May can be connected for the same cause but not at the same time and the same place. One day, One race, One motivation: support Women’s sport.
